• Number of Beds – 36 Bed Level 3 NICU
• Number of Staff –
• Type of staff:
  • Day Shift – 2 Respiratory Therapists
  • Night Shift – 2 Respiratory Therapists
• Patient Ratios – NICU is generally staffed with 2 therapists to cover the 36 bed unit during peak volumes.
• Type of equipment - Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A Oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide and Vapotherms
• EMR – Meditech and Neo Notes

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for:
Registered Respiratory Therapists

Must have :

• Level 3 NICU experience
  -would consider someone with 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience
• NRP certification

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• STABLE certification

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

• Attend high risk deliveries
• Ventilator management with conventional as well as high frequency oscillatory ventilation
• Surfactant administration
• Blood gas acquisition and interpretation
• Nitric Oxide administration
