The Front Office Medical Receptionist is the initial point of contact for each patient that visits the clinic. The Front Office Medical Receptionist undertakes all receptionist and clerical duties at the front desk of our main entrance of the clinic. RequirementsJob Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner and demonstrate exceptional customer service and patient care
- Present a patient, courteous, neat, and approachable demeanor
- Provide prompt communication and updates to patients
- Assist patients with completing required patient forms
- Verify patient demographics and insurance benefits
- Perform billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting co-pays and balancing daily transactions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records
- Promptly answer phone calls in a professional manner following guidelines provided
- Assist team members as needed and requested
- Present a positive and team orientated attitude
- Effectively act as a liaison between patients and providers
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Understand order of urgency and time management
- Ability to follow established organizational office routines and policies
- Understand and follow the ethics of confidentiality and HIPAA laws
- Mentally alert and focused to engage with team and patients’ needs
- Complete required training as assigned by the organization
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Regularly interacts with providers/team members/patients face to face or electronically
- Proficient with use of technology
- Knowledge working with healthcare platforms to accomplish work tasks
- General knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding ethics of patient confidentiality and HIPAA laws
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Attentive to the clinic environment and patients
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and pivot attention during high volume
- Follow established office routines and organizational policies
- This position has no supervisory responsibility
- Reports directly to the Regional Office Supervisor
- High School Diploma or equivalent,
required - Minimum of 1+ years of proven experience as receptionist, customer service representative or relevant position,
required - Working knowledge of medical terminology,
strongly preferred - Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems i.e. (eClinical
Works) or EPIC,
strongly preferred - CPR certification,
preferred
- This position operates on-site in a professional medical office environment
- This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Sedentary for extended periods of time
- Ability to move supplies and office equipment (up to 20 pds)
- Frequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasks
- Consistent use of technology platforms throughout shift to complete assigned work tasks
- Typical
Work Schedule:
40-hour work week Sunday through Saturday with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1x 6-hour shift - Every other weekend shift, Saturday and Sunday,
required - Overtime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needs
- Regional staffing requires travel within the region. Travel outside region may be required based on volumes and clinic needs
- Position may require occasional travel between clinic locations,
- Own personal reliable transportation required
- Mileage program available for eligible movement
- May require traveling to clinic locations outside preferred region during training
