36-bed Level III NICU

Shift: 2 Respiratory Therapists

Night

Shift: 2 Respiratory Therapists

Patient Ratios:
NICU is generally staffed with 2 therapists to cover the 36-bed unit during peak volumes.

Equipment:

Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide

Vapotherms

EMR:
Meditech and Neo Notes

TYPICAL HIRING PROFILE

SKILL SET MOST RECRUITED FOR:
Registered Respiratory Therapists

MUST HAVE:

• Level III NICU experience
• Candidates with 3–5 years of Level II NICU experience may be considered
• NRP certification
• BLS
• Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Cert
• ACLS
• NRP
• NBRC
• PALS

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:

STABLE certification

TYPICAL PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT:

Ventilator management, including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation

Blood gas acquisition and interpretation

Nitric Oxide administration

BEST PERSONALITY FIT:

Ability to critically think and work independently

MUST HAVE:

• Level III NICU experience
