The Matter Mobility Supervisor leads the oversight and supervision of the team responsible for digital client data transfers. The role works closely with the Matter Mobility Manager to support the Information Governance Department in data transfers associated with the onboarding and off‑boarding of client matters and related data.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Supervise transfer of digital records to and from the Firm repositories, including document management, email, file share and file‑sharing systems.
- Serve as the primary resource to answer questions regarding the transfer process and ensure confidence of the team.
- Ensure client-service focus, effective communication with stakeholders, and a collaborative posture.
- Process client transfer requests promptly and provide timely status reporting.
- Maintain a quality assurance program, including validation, auditing, and updates to standardized processes.
- Oversee creation, monitoring and maintenance of policies, processes and procedures for data transfers.
- Supervise training of the team on classification, documentation, authentication and repository assignment of inbound and outbound records.
- Manage FTP server technology, security and encryption controls, metadata structure, database reporting and critical system dependencies.
- Update the Firm’s tracking system and maintain data integrity.
- Work with various data formats, conversions, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Validate testing and implementation of new software, processes and protocols.
- Lead and/or participate in special projects and departmental operations as assigned.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in protocols and systems supporting data management and matter mobility.

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Technical troubleshooting knowledge, including file systems and formats.
- Knowledge of legal software and applications (e.g., document management, service ticketing, workflow, Windows Office Suite, Windows Server).
- Best‑practice knowledge for managing and transferring large datasets.
- Data‑privacy knowledge and methods for secure data handling (encryption, MFA, etc.).
- Hands‑on familiarity with Windows File Share Administration and Active Directory.
- Experience with server and/or desktop virtualization technologies.
- Understanding of security principles (firewall rules, file access rights, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of Information Governance principles and practices.
- Legal‑firm familiarity is a strong plus.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Moderate to advanced keyboard usage.
Colorado Equal Pay Act: $90,000.00 – $ per year (actual compensation depends on qualifications and experience).
