Job Description

As a Certified Nurse Midwife at Advent Health, you will incorporate patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making, perform comprehensive assessments, utilize diagnostic techniques, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and promote high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Incorporate patient, physician, customer needs and concerns in decision‑making.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of self‑care, psychosocial needs, environment, and discharge planning.
  • Utilize observation, inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation for screening of physical signs.
  • Perform fetal monitoring screening and assess fetal heart tones.
  • Assess learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family.
  • Document patient care findings within established standards.
  • Seek appropriate resources, coordinate care via multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Apply critical thinking to make sound clinical judgments.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Reassess patients regularly, revise interventions/plan of care based on evaluation.
  • Report changes in patient condition promptly.
  • Document patient’s condition and capability to manage continuing care needs.
  • Provide counseling about health and illness, promote health maintenance.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, protocols.
  • Respect patient rights, advance directives, ethics committee referral process.
  • Advocate patient satisfaction and dignity, privacy, confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate collaborative behaviors.
  • Promote a positive image within hospital system and community.
  • Model behaviors conducive to staff development.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association.
  • Pay Range: $91,313.86 - $.
