Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is family‑owned veterinary hospital and we are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team in Brandon, Florida. If you have a passion for helping pets with eye‑related issues and a desire to work alongside a skilled team in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Responsibilities- Assist our board‑certified Ophthalmologist in performing eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and planning treatments
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed
- Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post‑operative care
- Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred
- Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus
- Ability to perform and monitor anesthesia
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Comfort handling a variety of animals
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Flexibility to work holidays and on‑call shifts
