THE OPPORTUNITY
As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is absolutely delicious, ordering supplies, and training others to become future Kitchen Leaders.
At Chipotle, the Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of our food every day. They keep the kitchen clean, organized, and well stocked, maintain equipment, and serve as role models for Crew members. Their duties promote teamwork, create a great customer experience, and keep the kitchen running efficiently while supporting both back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house crew.
What You’ll Do- Following Chipotle’s policies and procedures.
- Ensuring food quality by cooking and prep‑ing food to order.
- Monitoring food waste and inventory levels, and resolving food quality issues.
- Supporting a strong team dynamic between back‑of‑house Crew and front‑of‑house Crew.
- Developing Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders.
- Communicating with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great service and throughput.
- Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Monitoring kitchen equipment to keep it in good repair and arranging repairs as needed.
- Ensuring kitchen safety guidelines are followed to prevent injuries or accidents.
- Filling out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and following inventory rotation (FIFO) procedures.
- Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
- Knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
- A high school diploma.
