What Will You Do?The Inventory Control Lead RDC is responsible for cycle counting every location in the retail distribution center to maintain transactional accuracy and to assure compliance with standard operating procedure (SOP) and audit requirements. Additionally, this position prepares and analyzes various inventory related reports to identify and resolve any inventory control issues. This lead also assists and works with other departments and leaders to support the business and understand inventory failures.
The Inventory Control Lead is accountable for ensuring high levels of warehouse inventory accuracy and timely email responses. The role contributes to the Ashley high performance culture by modeling our core values and conducting activities that keep the Ashley brand as the #1 home furnishings market leader in style, selection, quality and value.
- Performs Monthly cycle count in the warehouse to meet financial requirements
- Publish daily cycle count results, run reports to identify shrink for the day and report out by end of day
- Run various daily, weekly and monthly reports that include:
Use Tax;
Quarterly Inventory; MTO Transfer Order;
Credit Memo;
Invalid Location;
Zero Retail and Zero Location;
Cost with System;
Un-Nailed and Nailed, Bridge, etc. to ensure correct movement of merchandise and to correct any discrepancies. Documents findings/corrections and submits to the Operations Manager for review - Labeling:
Maintain labeling for all physical locations - Reconciles retail merchandise invoices and purchase orders; reconciles past due purchase orders. Review shipping and receiving documents for accuracy. Supports Distribution Center service representatives with billing and receiving issues
- Monitors in-transit inventory and location changes in respect to store-to-store, store to warehouse and warehouse-to-store transfers
- Serves as a liaison between the stores and local distribution center. Engages in quality control processes and programs
- Coordinates the merchandise donation process for Home Store-sponsored charities and/or special projects
- Demonstrates the company’s core and growth values in performance of all job functions
- Product movement inventory needs to be moved from one location to another
- Analyze inventory transactions, identify and resolve exceptions and shrinkage. Investigate and resolve inventory-related issues
- Manage merchandise movement, liquidation and disposal process. Monitor in-transit inventory and location changes regarding store and warehouse transfers; manage adjustment of inventory adds and losses
- Audit other employees’ transactions
- Participate in departmental meetings, training, and education
- Training associates from other departments on good inventory control practices
