GM and Food – General Merchandise Overview

General Merchandise Experts enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for General Merchandise areas and conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing processes. They support pick, pack and ship fulfillment for guests.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs when they need assistance.
• Thank guests and acknowledge their decision to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Execute processes including changing prices, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely and comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

• Ability to climb ladders and lift/move merchandise (up to 44 pounds) safely
• Flexible schedule with reliable attendance
• Ability to work in varied temperatures and conditions
