This is a full-time, on-site role for a Public Safety Telecommunicator at the Rankin County Sheriff's Department in Brandon, MS. The primary responsibilities include handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching emergency medical services, fire personnel, and law enforcement personnel while maintaining accurate records of all calls and ensuring effective communication between units.
Public Safety Telecommunicator work closely with emergency response teams and law enforcement agencies to manage critical information and support public safety operations.
Preferrable Qualifications- Experience with Emergency Medical Dispatch and Emergency Services is required.
- Proficiency in Dispatching and effective Communication skills are essential for this role.
- Familiarity with Law Enforcement protocols and procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Solid computer skills and proficiency in using dispatching systems and communication tools.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and a calm demeanor under stress.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certification or training is a plus.
