Obtain required materials list from Engineering department based on project specifications.
Compare required materials list to existing inventory to determine purchasing needs.
Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list, clarifying unclear items, and recommending alternatives.
Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
Obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items if necessary, and obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
Schedule deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered. Resolve any discrepancies with supplier/vendor.
Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
Authorize invoice for payment by matching invoice to receiving documentation.
Provide purchase planning and control information by collecting and analyzing data & trends.
Responsible for managing stockroom staff& monitoring inventory stock levels.
Build and maintain supplier/vendor relationships.
Seek and recommend process improvement opportunities. Perform other duties as required by Management.
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field.
A minimum of 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction industry. Ability to negotiate with suppliers/vendors.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
