Systems Engineer
Dev Ops Engineer (Aerospace Industry) - 1 year plus contract - 65/hr
Ideally you are a Software Engineer who enjoys working within the dynamic Aerospace Industry. You have a unique and blended skillset. Also, you enjoy your role, communicate very well and are enthusiastic about implementing the best practices in terms of Dev Ops.
You will also have at least five years of Development Experience with in a Waterfall and/or SAFe 6 Scaled Agile and/or Kanban Implementation Practice. This is a full-time W-2 Contracting Position with the candidate preferably being onsite in East Hartford, CT. If the right candidate is remote, then consideration will also be granted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the MDE Technical Publications Team as a Dev Ops Engineer.
- Develop and update applications that support the authoring, publishing, and distribution of Technical Publications.
- Migrate data from legacy systems to new systems.
System integration for seamless operations and dataflow between technical publications applications.
- Proficiency in Jenkins pipeline development including the Jenkins Scripting Language and Jenkins Power Shell.
- At least five years’ experience in development with Python, XML (including XSLT & XSD), HTML, and CSS.
- A willingness to learn the S1000D and/or iSpec 2200 standards.
- At least five years’ experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
- Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems.
- Ability to implement application deployments via the CI/CD Pipeline.
- Experience using Git Hub.
- Experience with JIRA.
- Experience with Apache SOLR or similar Lucene based search engine.
- Excellent communication and ability to think critically.
- Ability to work on a highly functioning team, preferably in person in East Hartford, CT. Remote options would be considered for the right candidate.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience within the Aerospace Industry.
- Familiarity with Azure and AWS Cloud
- Extreme Desire to actively and continuously learn while striving for continuous improvement with development and documentation support.
- Knowledge of Technical Publication Standards such as S1000D and iSpec 2200.
- A Passion for learning about the Aerospace Industry.
Additional Information:
- This position may require occasional travel or flexible working hours, depending on project needs and timelines.
- This position is ideally onsite in East Hartford, CT. Depending upon a candidate’s credentials the candidate could work in a hybrid or remote situation with occasional travel to the Office located in East Hartford, CT.
