Job DescriptionTiello has partnered with a highly reputable nationally renowned Security Systems Integrator located in the Greater Branford, CT area. We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer/Programmer to join its Connecticut operations. This hybrid role begins with a focus on high‑level system programming, configuration, and design, and will evolve into a leadership position overseeing field technicians and managing project delivery.
This position is ideal for a technical security professional with strong hands‑on experience in system programming, integration, and engineering who enjoys working on advanced technology without the travel or physical installation demands typical of field roles.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the technical liaison between project management, field operations, and engineering teams.
- Program and configure access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems (primarily AMAG, Milestone, DMP, and other IP‑based platforms).
- Manage system‑level setup including access levels, door configurations, and controller programming.
- Design, layout, and engineer integrated security solutions for commercial and enterprise clients.
- Lead pre‑wire planning, equipment layouts, and creation of detailed documentation for installation teams.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure peak system performance.
- Provide technical support and training for internal staff and clients during and after project completion.
- Maintain and update schematics, riser diagrams, and as‑built documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Apply camera licensing, manage VMS applications, and stay current with evolving technologies.
- Transition into a management capacity, leading and mentoring field technicians on‑site.
- 5+ years of experience in low‑voltage integration, including system programming, commissioning, or engineering.
- Proven proficiency with AMAG, Milestone, DMP, and familiarity with other major platforms such as Genetec, Lenel
S2, Avigilon, Brivo, and Verkada. - Strong understanding of IP networking, including switch configuration, IP addressing, and system connectivity.
- Solid foundation in access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience in project coordination, documentation, and client communication.
- Industry certifications preferred (e.g., AMAG, Milestone, AXIS, or Avigilon Certified Professional).
