South Windsor Veterinary Clinic – Medical Director (Full-Time, On-site)

South Windsor, Connecticut, United States

South Windsor Veterinary Clinic (SWVC), part of Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, seeks a compassionate and skilled Medical Director to lead our small animal practice. We pride ourselves on a family‑oriented, supportive culture with state‑of‑the‑art technology and a 4‑day work week.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $160,000 per year
Sign‑on bonus: $75,000

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries of pets (primarily dogs and cats), and treat surgically or medically.
  • Collaborate within our veterinary ecosystem and communicate with referring veterinarians.
  • Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training to stay at the top of your field.
  • Lead and supervise the clinic team, working with the Hospital Manager on finances.
  • Work with a Regional Operations Manager and the Hospital Manager to achieve high standards and provide superior pet patient care.
  • Administer core vaccinations and counsel clients in wellness care.
  • Perform dental procedures.
  • Contribute to making our workplace enjoyable for all: staff, clients, and pets.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience practicing veterinary medicine in a hospital setting.
  • Preferred:
    Internship training.
  • Eligible to obtain Connecticut Veterinary License.
