Managing and overseeing the daily accounting and general ledger. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information. Must work closely with the Executive Director of Finance.

Description of Duties

(This position description may not include all the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks that may be found in positions of this type).

General Ledger process

• Ensure accurate posting of all batch reporting and general ledger transactions
• Organize budgeting and cash forecasting process to promote great stewardship
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting
• Enforce accounting policies and controls over company assets and processes
• Recommend financial reporting process improvements
• Manage bi-weekly payroll
• Develop and provide various planning and field reports for financial audit
• Ensure that only legitimate obligations are paid only once.
• Maximize cash flow
• Prepare and file compliance reporting (i.e., 1099’s, use tax, etc.)
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of A/P to the general ledger
• Oversight of company purchasing card system
• Ensure accurate and timely billing of what is duevia coordination with other departments
• Maximize cash flow and minimize year-end balances due
• Prepare and file compliance reporting (i.e., sales tax)
• Coordinate with registration team to assist in collection of camper balances due.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of A/R and escrow balances.
• Reconcile monthly credit card statement to sales system and general ledger

Project requests

• From time-to-time management will request specific data or research
• Research of key financial data in developing key performance indicators

Qualifications:

• Elevated level of confidentiality
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient with PC including Excel, Word, and Great Plains/(D365BC
  is helpful)
• A/P and purchasing knowledge
• High knowledge of the general ledger
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal along with strong interpersonal skills
• Management skills including leadership, planning, delegation, and teaching

Other Requirements and Characteristics:

• Graduation from a standard high school or possess a GED
• Graduate from a college with a degree in accounting strongly preferred
• Proficient use of Word, Excel (including formulas) and Outlook
• At least 5 years general accounting experience
