What You'll Be Doing

As the Construction Project Manager, you will act as the owner's representative and oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the owner's interests throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and schedules
  • Coordinate and maintain communication between ownership, tenants, consultants, and General Contractors
  • Prepare and issue project proposals, RFPs, tender packages, and project documentation
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, costs, quality standards, and overall performance
  • Lead project meetings and ensure accurate distribution of meeting minutes and action items
  • Review contractor quotations and recommend fair and reasonable pricing approvals
  • Track and manage change notices, change orders, and project documentation
  • Review consultant reports, inspections, and project progress updates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and project requirements
  • Identify project risks and proactively resolve issues to maintain project momentum
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including substantial completion documentation and turnover requirements
  • Measure project performance and continuously improve project outcomes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager
  • Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, or mixed-use construction projects
  • Experience overseeing projects ranging from approximately $1M to $30M
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project delivery methods, and contract administration
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and professional business communication tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Assets

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field
  • Experience working directly with owners, developers, or consulting project management firms
  • PMP, Gold Seal, or related project management certifications considered an asset
