About

The Role

We are seeking a General Labor – Bakery Engineering Student to join our team at our Brantdford bakery. As an Engineering Student, you will be accountable for supporting facility engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing process improvements. This role is vital in assisting the Project Engineer with plant layouts, new product start‑ups, efficiency initiatives, and technical documentation that strengthens operational performance.

  • Hourly Rate: $27
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
  • Support engineering projects by updating drawings, plant layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with manufacturing process improvements and equipment upgrade initiative.
  • Participate in efficiency assessments and line‑improvement projects.
  • Support installation and commissioning of equipment for new product start‑ups.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineer on project planning and execution.
  • Maintain compliance with GMPs, safety procedures, and SOP‑driven work practices.
  • Perform general engineering support tasks while contributing to a safe and productive environment.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring To The Table)
  • Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary Engineering or Engineering Technology program.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes or industrial operations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and adapt to technical tasks.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, bending, or lifting as required.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients For Success)
  • Previous co‑op, internship, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with plant layout design or process improvement work.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem‑solve, and collaborate effectively.
  • Interest in food manufacturing, industrial engineering, or equipment design.
