We are hiring a technician who wants to grow within an MSP, progressing from Level 1 to Level 2 through clearly defined technical milestones.

Employment Details

Role Overview

This is a career progression role.
You will start as a Level 1 MSP Technician, handling help desk support and foundational networking tasks. With demonstrated competency and internal assessment, the role progresses to Level 2, expanding into advanced troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 administration, networking, and backup systems.

Level 1 Responsibilities (Entry MSP Technician)

Help Desk & End-User Support

  • Provide Level 1 technical support in an MSP environment
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 workstations and common application issues
  • User and group management in Microsoft 365 / Entra
  • Email and Outlook troubleshooting (Exchange Online basics)
  • Use MSP ticketing, RMM, and documentation systems
  • Follow escalation procedures and document all work

Networking & On-Site Support

  • On-site installation and replacement of network equipment
  • Support Cisco, HP, and Ubiquiti (Uni Fi) switches, firewalls, and access points
  • Perform basic network diagnostics (connectivity, cabling, PoE)
  • Rack mounting, hardware installs, and structured cabling

Backup & Monitoring

  • Monitor Veeam Backup & Replication jobs
  • Perform backup health checks and report failures
  • Assist with restore tasks under supervision

Level 2 Responsibilities (Progression Role)

Upon progression to Level 2:

  • Advanced troubleshooting of Windows workstations and servers
  • Independent administration of Microsoft 365 (mail flow, licensing, security)
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, firewall rules, and Uni Fi environments
  • Perform independent Veeam restores and troubleshooting
  • Assist with network design, upgrades, and standardization
  • Mentor Level 1 technicians
  • Improve documentation and MSP standards

Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Must currently live in Brantford, ON or nearby
  • Valid, clean Canadian driver’s license
  • Over 25 years of age
  • Must be bondable
  • Comfortable working:
    • On-site at client locations
    • In network/server rooms
  • Strong communication skills and patience
  • Willing to participate in occasional after-hours/on-call support
