Kelly Services is currently recruiting for an experienced Brake Press Operator / Sheet Metal Fabricator on behalf of a growing manufacturing company in Brantford, Ontario.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabrication professional with experience operating and setting up brake press equipment within a sheet metal manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated components while supporting the transition from traditional NC equipment to newer CNC technology.

If you have hands‑on experience with brake presses, sheet metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and fabrication tooling, we’d like to hear from you.

• Set up and operate brake press equipment to fabricate sheet metal components to specification

• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, work orders, and production requirements

• Select, install, and adjust punches, dies, and tooling based on material type, thickness, and bend requirements

• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, squares, angle gauges, and other measuring equipment

• Verify dimensions, bend angles, hole locations, and overall quality of fabricated parts

• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality concerns as required

• Safely load, unload, and handle sheet metal materials

• Work closely with production and leadership teams to ensure quality and productivity goals are met

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Complete production and quality documentation as required

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements

• Previous brake press setup and operating experience

• Experience working in a sheet metal fabrication environment

• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints

• Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, bend allowances, and shop math

• Experience selecting and changing tooling

• Comfortable using precision measuring equipment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Reliable, safety‑conscious, and team‑oriented

• Punch press or turret punch experience

• CNC brake press experience

• Experience with Amada, Accurpress, Bystronic, Trumpf, Strippit, Prima Power, or similar equipment

• Experience with in HVAC, heat exchanger, custom fabrication, or manufacturing environments

• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience

• Basic CNC programming or program editing experience
