Part Time Registered Practical Nurse

Position: Part Time Registered Practical Nurse at Extendicare
Join Extendicare as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) delivering goal-oriented care in a supportive senior environment. Provide direct patient care while implementing effective service plans.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the RPN will work as part of an interprofessional team under Extendicare's Professional Practice Model. Key responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, managing care plans, and administering medication while ensuring compliance with standards. Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and administer medications to residents

• Conduct clinical care assessments and maintain accurate documentation

• Coordinate resident care assignments for efficient service

• Participate in resident care conferences and facilitate education

• Respond to medical emergencies and significant condition changes

Requirements:

• Current RPN registration in applicable province

• Experience in gerontology or long-term care preferred

• Strong communication and critical thinking skills

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

• Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening within 6 months
