Registered Practical Nurse - Critical Care

Provide evidence‑based, comprehensive, safe, effective, and ethical nursing care in the Critical Care Unit, working to the full scope of practice for the Registered Practical Nurse.

• Current minimum of two (2) years acute care nursing experience.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months).
• High Acuity Nursing Certificate, or comparable certificate (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months).
• Ability to perform venipuncture and 12/15‑lead ECG (or obtain within orientation).
• Meditech experience (asset).
• Member of RPNO (asset).

• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent patient assessment skills (completion of the Patient Assessment course an asset).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time‑management skills.
• Proven ability to organize workload in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care.
• Demonstrated teamwork as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable individual with excellent attendance record.
• Must function within full scope of practice as an RPN.
