Registered Practical Nurse - Critical Care
Position Summary

Provide evidence‑based, comprehensive, safe, effective, and ethical nursing care in the Critical Care Unit, working to the full scope of practice for the Registered Practical Nurse.
Mandatory Qualifications- Current minimum of two (2) years acute care nursing experience.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months).
- High Acuity Nursing Certificate, or comparable certificate (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months).
- Ability to perform venipuncture and 12/15‑lead ECG (or obtain within orientation).
- Meditech experience (asset).
- Member of RPNO (asset).
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent patient assessment skills (completion of the Patient Assessment course an asset).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time‑management skills.
- Proven ability to organize workload in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care.
- Demonstrated teamwork as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable individual with excellent attendance record.
- Must function within full scope of practice as an RPN.
