Part-Time Practical Nurse Position

Become a vital part of Extendicare's nursing team as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse. You'll focus on delivering individualized care and fostering positive health outcomes for residents.

As an RPN, your responsibilities will include conducting clinical assessments, managing resident care plans, and providing direct patient care. Working closely with the Director of Care, you will coordinate care effectively while ensuring compliance with provincial standards. Your expertise will also extend to resident education and supporting families in their care journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage resident care plans and maintain accurate documentation

• Administer treatments and medications according to standards

• Coordinate care assignments and assist with care conferences

• Educate residents and families about health management

• Participate in infection control and safety initiatives

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Practical Nurse registration

• Experience in long-term or community care preferred

• Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification needed

• Recent Vulnerable Position Screening required
