Emergency Mental Health Nurse at BCHS

Join Brant Community Healthcare System as an Emergency Mental Health Nurse, providing critical care in a supportive environment. This role involves assessing and supporting mental health patients in emergencies, while fostering a culture of compassion and respect.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care within the ER Mental Health Program.

Your role will require you to utilize strong clinical skills and work effectively with an interdisciplinary team. We value communication, conflict resolution abilities, and ongoing professional development in our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care in the ER Mental Health Program

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and interventions

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic care

• Manage crisis situations using Nonviolent Crisis Intervention

• Facilitate patient education and support within mental health contexts

Requirements:

• Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Experience in Mental Health Nursing (2 years minimum)

• B.C.L.S. and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certifications

• Strong organizational and attendance record

• Commitment to quality care and continuing education
