Duties
We are recruiting for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Team Lead
. This role is a vital part of our Withdrawal Management & Treatment Services (WMTS) team; combining direct clinical nursing care with on-shift leadership and team support in a bed-based withdrawal management and treatment setting.
- The RPN Team Lead plays a key role in fostering high-quality, safe, and consistent practice. Acting as a clinical and team resource, the Team Lead supports staff in complex situations, promotes best practices, reinforces policies and leadership direction, and helps ensure smooth team functioning.
- This position is ideal for an experienced RPN who is looking to take on some leadership responsibilities while remaining actively engaged in clinical care.

- You will work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team focused on safe, compassionate, and evidence-informed care throughout the client’s treatment journey.
- Provide direct nursing care in a bed-based withdrawal management and treatment setting
- Complete in-person and telephone screening prior to admission
- Conduct comprehensive client intake assessments
- Monitor withdrawal symptoms using evidence-based protocols
- Administer oral and injectable medications and document care accurately
- Identify clients requiring a higher level of care and coordinate hospital transfers as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including Nurse Practitioners and Withdrawal Management Workers
- Liaise with external partners (e.g., pharmacies, hospitals, RAAM teams) to support continuity of care
- Collect specimens including blood, urine, and blood glucose
- Support medication reconciliation and accurate EMR documentation
- Contribute to a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment
- Organize and prioritize tasks to support effective service flow
- Provide guidance and support in non-routine or complex situations
- Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring of staff
- Role model best practices in clinical care, professionalism, and teamwork
- Reinforce SOAR policies, procedures, and leadership direction
- Encourage collaboration, mutual support, and positive team culture
- Support documentation standards and quality expectations
- Assist with early identification and informal resolution of team challenges
- Identify emerging issues, risks, or trends and communicate them to leadership
- Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from a CNO‑recognized program
- Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience (withdrawal management experience preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, coaching, or informal supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of CNO Standards of Practice and commitment to reflective practice
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team‑building skills
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Access to reliable transportation
- Capacity to manage exposure to direct and vicarious trauma
- Eligible to work in Canada

- Salary:
Starting at $61,991.00 annually. - Benefits:
