Emergency Registered Practical Nurse

Emergency nursing at Brant Community Healthcare System calls for patient assessment and critical thinking. This position serves Brantford and Paris, Ontario.
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Emergency Services, the Registered Practical Nurse provides quality patient care within full scope of practice. The position requires acute care experience, communication, venipuncture, and ECG skills. Meditech experience and multidisciplinary teamwork are also required competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform patient assessments and provide quality patient care
Complete venipuncture and 12 or 15 Lead ECGs
Educate patients while supporting continuing care needs
Organize workload in changing emergency services environments
Work within full Registered Practical Nurse scope
Requirements:
Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
Two years acute care experience within five years
Current B.C.L.S. Certificate
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certification within six months
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills
Apply patient assessment, ECG, and communication skills as a Registered Practical Nurse supporting emergency services at BCHS.
