Operating Room Nurse, Surgical Assistant, RN Nurse
Provide comprehensive operating room nursing care with BCHS in Brantford or Paris, Ontario, using BCLS certification and current perioperative experience.
Reporting to the Manager, Operating Room, PACU and Day Surgery, the Registered Practical Nurse supports patient care in the operating room. The role requires accredited nursing education, College of Nurses of Ontario registration, and a post graduate Operating Room course. Successful applicants bring communication, critical thinking, prioritization, and collaborative abilities to interprofessional care. Current Operating Room experience is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room
- Work independently and with interprofessional team members
- Apply critical thinking to changing clinical priorities
- Support patient friendly, solution focused care
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
- Graduate of an accredited college nursing program
- Registered and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Completed post graduate Operating Room course
- Minimum one year current Operating Room experience
