Medical Unit Registered Practical Nurse

Use your medical-unit nursing experience as a Registered Practical Nurse in Chatham, Ontario. This temporary full-time position supports the Medicine department.

The assignment runs from November 2026 through May 2027 and requires two recent years in hospital nursing on a medical unit. CKHA seeks a nurse with Palliative Care and geriatric experience, current BCLS, and Ontario College of Nurses certification. Practice includes medication administration, venipuncture, IV initiation and management, and blood products.

• Provide nursing practice within the College of Nurses scope
• Administer oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol, and IV medications
• Complete venipuncture and IV initiation and management
• Process physician orders and support medication administration
• Demonstrate adherence to CKHA nursing practice expectations

• Two years recent hospital nursing experience on a medical unit
• Palliative Care and geriatric experience
• Current BCLS certification
• Current Registered Practical Nurse certification in Ontario
• Full-scope nursing practice consistent with College expectations
