Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Technician will be responsible for providing valuable quality support by ensuring the products meet all standards of presentation and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform visual inspections, mechanical, and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards

Competent with use of micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMM, and Optical test equipment

Study product specifications and work instructions

Make independent judgements for subjective calls

Follow nonconforming part procedure to identify & isolate defective material

Support internal/external audit processes, as required

Support cross functional problem solving activities, as required

Ability to read and understand blue prints/inspection plans

Support PFMEA and APQP activities, as required

Support PPAP activities, as required

Helps to ensure the safety of the workforce

Identify problem areas, recommend, coordinate, and implement solutions

Collaborates with other departments to maintain the quality system

Qualifications:

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, with demonstrated experience in a quality-related role.

Solid understanding of GD&T

Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multi-task

Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced environment

Ability to take initiative and recognize needs

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email

Superior attention to detail in all areas of work

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
