Security Site Manager - Global HQ/Operations Centre

If you are an experienced manager in the contract security industry with experience overseeing corporate security personnel, we may be looking for you. This role is based in Waterloo, ON for a new client and involves overseeing security operations and leading security teams with minimal supervision from the client. You should be someone who enjoys taking on new challenges, reducing risk and understanding how security procedures impact a business, and who mentors others and develops security teams through succession planning.
Responsibilities- Oversee security operations and lead security teams with minimal client supervision.
- Support a culture that drives high-performance security and emergency management teams.
- Review training programs with the client to ensure standards meet or exceed site expectations, compliance and development.
- Lead and develop career progression and succession plans for various security positions.
- Provide continuous evaluation and compliance to Post Orders and site programs; communicate changes and updates when required.
- Maintain client relationships and oversee communications and emergency alarms in the Global Incident Reporting and Communications Centre, responding to emergencies around the world.
- Audit contractor access procedures, ensuring documentation is followed (e.g., log entries, badge access).
- Step in during emergencies to reduce risk to clients; update client Engineering Techs on emergency alarms and provide detailed reports.
- Dispatch duties including answering calls for emergencies and non-emergency situations.
- Conduct monthly KPI reporting and ensure accuracy of month-end documentation.
- Perform weekly administrative duties including payroll, attendance, procedural audits, and performance management.
- Maintain staffing schedules, support shortages, and authorize vacation requests.
- Complete Employee Performance reviews and establish effective goals and objectives.
- With HR support, oversee site labour and employee relations matters, lead investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- All other duties as required.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in security or a related field.
- Strong critical thinking, communication skills, and ability to make quick decisions with detailed reports.
- Ability to interact with multiple levels of client staff, from office personnel to VP level.
- Initiative in emergency and non-emergency situations; allocate resources and identify risks or gaps.
- Previous by-law enforcement experience is an asset.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License and Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Post-secondary education in Law & Security, Police Foundations, or equivalent.
- Robust multi-tasking and communication skills; proven ability to lead a high-performance security and emergency management team.
- Ability to respond to situations with tact and diplomacy and remain calm under stress.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to summarize information accurately for the client.
- Intermediate level use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Schedule:
Regular hours are Monday to Friday. Must be available on call when not on site and support shift as required.
Pay range: $27.15-$32.00/hr
