Support Indigenous students at Six Nations Polytechnic in the role of Social Counsellor. Utilize your skills to enhance mental health and facilitate cultural integration.
The Social Counsellor will work closely with the Principal and educators to support student well-being at SNP Secondary School. Responsibilities include developing success strategies for students, providing counseling, and fostering a culturally rich environment. This position emphasizes collaboration and crisis response to ensure optimal student support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate lessons on study skills and mental health
• Counsel students individually to support their success
• Work with staff on attendance improvement strategies
• Assist in crisis response during critical incidents
• Create community partnerships for additional resources
Requirements:
• Degree or Master's in Social Work
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in counseling
• Registration with Ontario College of Social Workers
• Understanding of Indigenous ethical frameworks
• Comprehensive background check mandatory
