Join SOAR as a part-time Support Counsellor in Brantford, ON, where you’ll support young adults in a residency focused on life skills and independence. Flexibility in shifts is essential.
The Cornerstone program at SOAR Community Services is looking for a dedicated Support Counsellor. This role focuses on aiding youth facing homelessness and incorporates the Housing First model in daily operations. Gain hands-on experience helping clients develop essential life skills while ensuring a secure residential environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute Support Plans tailored for residents
• Promote Housing First principles in daily tasks
• Collaborate with the team to deliver consistent care
• Ensure the safety of grounds and facilities
• Monitor clients' medication usage responsibly
Requirements:
• Diploma in Human/Social Services or equivalent
• At least 2 years working with youth in crisis
• Competence in MS Office and familiarity with databases
• Access to transportation for work-related travel
• Resilience in facing challenging situations
