Job Type: Part Time Opportunities Available The Southern Vermont Regional Emergency Communications Center (SVRECC), operated by the Windham County Sheriff's Office, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Emergency Communications Dispatcher. SVRECC provides 24/7 emergency dispatch services for the Windham County Sheriff’s Office and Bellows Falls Police Department. We are currently looking to hire Part Time positions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent

Excellent verbal communication and decision-making skills

Strong computer and typing proficiency

Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure is essential

Availability to work overnight and variable shifts, including weekends and holidays

High moral character, strong ethics, and confidentiality

Ability to pass a background investigation, criminal history check, and motor vehicle records check

Job Responsibilities:

Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls from the public

Dispatch law enforcement and emergency services as appropriate

Operate multi-line phone systems, two-way radios, and dispatching software

Maintain accurate logs of all calls and incidents

Monitor facility CCTV systems

Use NCIC/VCIC teletype systems for inter-agency communications

Maintain working knowledge of Windham and Bennington Counties and surrounding areas

Communicate clearly, courteously, and professionally at all times

Attend ongoing training to maintain skills and certifications

Work overtime as needed for adequate coverage

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 1 year of typing or clerical experience

Previous experience in customer service, public safety, or emergency communications preferred but not required

Valid driver’s license

Schedule:

Flexibility required for day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts

On-call shifts may be required

Pay:
Starting Rate $24.00 per hour
