Position Overview

HR Generalist, Brattleboro, VT – Full‑time

Reports to the Human Resources Manager.

This position manages a wide range of responsibilities including employee engagement, onboarding, communications, compliance, and reporting. The role combines administrative and strategic functions, requiring planning and management of areas such as employee relations, staffing, training, development, and compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle: job postings, sourcing, interviews, and offers.
  • Handle onboarding activities: new‑hire paperwork, background checks, orientation.
  • Coordinate new‑hire check‑ins, stay interviews, exit interviews; track and report feedback.
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and leaders to address employee relations matters and support people‑related needs.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems; process payroll, generate reports, conduct audits.
  • Assist with annual performance review process to ensure consistency.
  • Foster a proactive workplace culture through regular engagement with employees throughout the plant.
  • Oversee employee uniform program: inventory management, ordering, vendor relationships.
  • Lead planning and coordination of team celebrations and milestone recognitions.
Work Conditions
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Extended hours may be necessary depending on project needs.
  • Tools such as a computer, phone, and/or allowance(s) will be provided.

  • Position requires physical presence in the office 5 days per week.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and HR software preferred.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws a plus.
  • Administer payroll: maintain data, calculate wages, manage payments.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex ideas.
  • Effective recruitment and selection techniques.
  • Organizational skills: prioritize, allocate time, manage resources.
  • Agility to adjust to change and realign priorities.
  • Manage HR functions aligned with company strategy.
  • Lead change management initiatives.
