Position: RN Staff - Inpatient Psych - All Units - All Shifts

RN Staff - Inpatient Psych - All Units - All Shifts

Brattleboro, VT – Full‑time (36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE). Shift times: 7:00 am–7:30 pm or 7:00 pm–7:30 am.

Base Pay Range
: $39.00/hr – $59.22/hr.

  • Sign‑on bonus: $10,000.
  • Relocation reimbursement available.
  • Weekend differential: $3/hr.
  • Night shift differential: $4.25/hr.
  • Earn over 5 weeks of PTO per year.

Job Summary
:
Works with the multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. Utilizes the nursing process to meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care. Provides clinical supervision of MHWs to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care.

Qualifications

  • State of Vermont licensed registered nurse.
  • Preferred: one year of psychiatric nursing experience or two years of general nursing experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assumes Charge Nurse responsibilities for a given shift.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, implement, and evaluate patient/family care.
  • Provides nursing care, including medication administration.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of specimen collection, storage, and delivery criteria for toxicology testing.
  • Participates in development and maintenance of a safe and therapeutic milieu.
  • Adheres to and implements organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assesses potential crisis situations and intervenes in a calm, supportive manner.
  • Utilizes appropriate verbal and physical interventions in crisis situations.
  • Documents crisis situations, patient safety procedures, and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Participates in the multidisciplinary plan of care and performance improvement activities.
  • Completes assigned work within the given shift.
