Community Support Specialist/Police Liaison
Join the Community Support Specialist/Police Liaison role at HCRS (Health Care & Rehabilitation Services of Southeastern Vermont).
The pay for this position is $26,260-$30,767.7753 annually, starting with 4 weeks of paid time off (pro-rated) plus 12 sick days and 9 holidays per year.
Position Purpose
The Police Liaison works embedded in area municipal police departments responding to mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence or other social service related calls with law enforcement, to provide immediate support and resource connection.
Principal Responsibilities And Duties
Police Liaisons provide an array of supports to individuals including, but not limited to, assisting individuals with various challenges and helping them to connect with community agencies and care providers. They work embedded in local police departments responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing assistance to law enforcement and ensuring people are connected to the proper system of care.

Police Liaisons bring a strong belief in individuals’ self-determination and a respect for all people. They possess positive attitudes and an ability to work well with individuals receiving services, other providers, law enforcement and staff members.
Qualification Statements
Minimum
Bachelor's degree in psychology, human services, mental health or social work required, with Master's degree preferred.
Working Conditions And Additional Information
Police Liaisons will work in a variety of settings, including police departments, business offices, individuals’ homes, homeless shelters, community agencies, and hospitals. Traveling to and from these various work sites is an expected part of the job.
