The Worship Minister leads the congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship that exalts God, builds up the church, and creates a culture of participation, not performance. This person shepherds and equips volunteers to use their gifts in worship, music, technology, and creative arts to support the mission and vision of the church across both contemporary and traditional services.
Core ResponsibilitiesWorship Leadership
- Lead Sunday morning worship each week in both the contemporary and traditional services.
- Serve as the primary director and producer of a comprehensive worship experience that creates energy, enthusiasm, and engagement for all participants.
- Consistently incorporate new songs that align with the church’s theology and culture.
- Lead the congregation with authenticity and active engagement across worship styles.
- Work closely with the Senior Minister to plan services that are biblically grounded, creative, and unified in purpose.
Team Development & Oversight
- Oversee and develop the following ministry teams:
Worship, Tech, Set Design, Creative Arts, and Communion. - Recruit, schedule and equip active volunteers for effective service.
- Build meaningful relationships with team members, fostering a culture of encouragement, excellence, and spiritual growth.
- Create and maintain selection criteria and development pathways for volunteers in all worship-related areas.
- Provide supervision and leadership for part-time worship staff (when applicable).
Creative Arts & Media
- Provide support for shooting and editing videos for worship services, announcements, and marketing needs.
- Collaborate on stage design and visual elements that enhance the worship experience.
- Stay current on creative trends and tools that can help communicate the gospel effectively.
Administration & Reporting
- Develop and maintain an effective, systematic worship planning process.
- Provide a monthly written report of ministry activities and progress to the Senior Minister and Elders.
- Manage worship-related budgets, scheduling, and communications with excellence and consistency.
- Attend at least one worship, tech, or creative arts conference each year for continued growth and team development.
- Be prepared to assist or assume duties of the Senior Minister and elders when necessary.
Shepherding & Church Life
- Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the congregation through consistent communication, care, and presence.
- Provide pastoral encouragement and prayer support for team members and others in the church body.
- Model servant leadership and promote unity within the staff and congregation.
- A strong, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by lifestyle, attitude, and leadership.
- A solid understanding of Christian theology and a personal philosophy of worship rooted in Scripture.
- A humble, teachable, and team-oriented spirit.
- Demonstrates integrity, emotional maturity, and a genuine love for people.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to connect well across multiple personalities and temperaments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams with integrity and humility.
- Working knowledge of music and basic music theory.
- Proficiency in at least one instrument — piano or acoustic/electric guitar preferred.
- Familiarity with current trends in worship music and the ability to adapt appropriately for both contemporary and traditional contexts.
- Organizational and administrative competence for managing volunteers, planning, and follow-up.
- Video editing capabilities with software such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere.
- Audio editing skills, including cutting, arranging, crossfading, and warping.
- Advanced understanding of music theory and the ability to integrate that knowledge creatively.

Worship, Tech, Set Design, Creative Arts, part-time worship staff (as applicable) - Collaborates With:
Ministry staff, elders, and volunteers
- Sundays, midweek rehearsals, staff meetings, and creative planning sessions.
- Additional services and events as scheduled (Christmas, Easter, outreach, etc.).
- Negotiable. Commensurate with experience and education.
