In your role as a Sourcing Manager in the Procurement department, you coordinate international procurement processes for all companies in our group, support the selection and management of suppliers, and contribute to optimizing the global purchasing strategy.
Location: Emmerich am Rhein, travel share of 20–30%
Team Size: 10 colleagues on-site, a total of 20 employees worldwide in Procurement
International Connections: Procurement departments and technical departments of group companies, primarily in DE, NL, India, Brazil
Your Tasks:- You coordinate the sourcing activities of all companies in the Probat group and develop global procurement strategies – particularly for steel components, assemblies, spare parts, and plant components.
- You identify and evaluate suitable suppliers in Best Cost Countries (e.g., Eastern Europe and China) together with the technical departments.
- You handle technical clarification and interface management between suppliers, design, and other stakeholders.
- You create TCO comparisons considering price, quality, logistics, customs, payment terms, and risks.
- You align with the procurement departments of group companies to prepare contract negotiations.
- You assist in contract design – from price comparisons to framework agreements to award recommendations.
- You further develop international supplier relationships and conduct audits together with the quality assurance and technical departments.
- A completed degree in a technical or commercial field – e.g., industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or business administration with a technical focus
- Technical understanding and knowledge in the field of materials
- Experience in strategic purchasing or international sourcing
- Communication skills, negotiation expertise, and intercultural competence
- Very good English skills
