Mechanical Engineering Tech 2 –
Katalyst CRO
We are seeking a Product Development Technician for our Brea, CA facility. This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope. Their contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.
Responsibilities- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Produce engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
- Prepare reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
- Provide completion of technical tasks.
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
- Help scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
- Work with team on general lab functions, including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
- Notify manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project.
- Help develop prototype processes and test set‑ups.
- Execute designed test protocol and conduct testing.
- Effectively document and communicate test results.
Handle test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing.
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma and at least 6 years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment.
- Experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
- Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members.
- Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
- Proficiency in personal computers.
- Ability to train lower-level technicians.
