Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer
KETIV Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Electromagnetics Application Engineer (AE) to join our Simulation team with a focus on Maxwell (Ansys, part of Synopsys) and low frequency electromagnetics. This role provides technical expertise, simulation support, and project delivery services to clients across automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial, and consumer electronics sectors.
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with Maxwell and the low frequency workflow from Ansys, part of Synopsys (Motor-CAD, Twin Builder, and coupling to Mechanical and Icepak), combined with a solid foundation in electric machines, power electronics magnetics, and electromagnetic field theory. A passion for solving complex electromechanical challenges and supporting electrification and cutting‑edge technology development is essential.
Responsibilities- Provide pre‑sales support by leading technical discussions with customers to identify electromagnetic simulation needs and recommend solutions from Ansys, part of Synopsys, and validating proposed solutions through product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
- Deliver post‑sales support to end users, including simulation guidance, workflow training, issue resolution, and licensing assistance.
- Execute and deliver consulting services and training for low frequency tools from Ansys, part of Synopsys, including developing proposals, delivering simulation reports, and presenting results.
- Support simulations involving:
- Electric motors and generators (permanent magnet, induction, synchronous reluctance, switched reluctance) using Maxwell and Motor-CAD
- Transformers, inductors, and wireless power transfer coils
- Actuators, solenoids, sensors, and busbars
- Eddy current, core loss, and magnetic saturation analysis
- Electric drive and power electronics system modeling with Twin Builder, including Reduced Order Models (ROMs)
- Multiphysics coupling of electromagnetic losses to thermal (Icepak, Mechanical) and structural, Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) analyses
- Collaborate with the sales team to support account growth and identify new simulation opportunities.
- Create technical content (blogs, webinars, case studies) to promote electromagnetic capabilities from Ansys, part of Synopsys, in industrial applications.
- Master of Science (M.S.) or higher in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related field)
- Documented experience with Maxwell (2D and 3D) from Ansys, part of Synopsys, ideally in electric machine or power magnetics applications
- Experience using Motor-CAD, Twin Builder, Electronics Desktop, Space Claim, Workbench, or similar electromagnetic design tools
- Strong understanding of magneto statics, eddy current and transient electromagnetics, magnetic materials (B-H curves, core loss models, demagnetization), and electric machine performance (torque, efficiency maps, back-EMF (Electromotive Force), cogging, losses)
- Knowledge of finite element meshing and solver settings for low frequency electromagnetics, including adaptive meshing and motion setup
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Willingness to travel occasionally (typically less than 10%)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering simulation, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, defense, or energy industries
- Experience with Electric Vehicle (EV) traction motors, e-axles, or electrified propulsion systems
- Familiarity with parametric studies, optimization, and Design of Experiments (DOE) using optiSLang or Workbench
- Scripting experience in Python (PyAEDT), Iron Python, or Visual Basic (VB) scripts for automation of Electronics Desktop (AEDT) from Ansys, part of Synopsys
- Experience with HFSS, Q3D Extractor, SIwave, Icepak, or Mechanical from Ansys, part of Synopsys, for coupled electrothermal or structural workflows
- Familiarity with control systems, inverter modeling, or Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) based system simulation
This is a full-time position offering:
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses
- Medical insurance with a variety of customizable plan options
- Paid holidays and flexible paid time off (PTO)
- 401(k) plan with company match through Vanguard
- Professional development, including certifications and training from Ansys, part of Synopsys
- Salary Range: $95,000 to $115,000 per year
Final offer may vary depending on experience, education, skills, and business needs.
