Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Manager – Operations to lead core human resources operational functions. This role will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, benefits planning and administration – including annual open enrollment – vendor and carrier management, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies. This position will also oversee key employee lifecycle processes such as pre-onboarding, onboarding, and offboarding, manage workers’ compensation claims and reporting, and support facility and office operations.
The HR Manager – Operations plays a key role in maintaining HR compliance and aligning practices with changing legal requirements and organization needs.
- Payroll & Benefit Administration:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.
- Lead the planning and execution of open enrollment for employee benefits, including communication, platform setup, and coordination with brokers and carriers.
- Oversee day-to-day benefits administration including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary plans.
- Serve as the main point of contact for insurance carriers and brokers, resolving issues and optimizing plan offerings.
- Employee Lifecycle Management:
Oversee all stages of the employee lifecycle: pre-onboarding, onboarding, and offboarding, ensuring consistent processes, compliance, and positive employee experience. - Coordinate new hire paperwork, background checks, benefit enrollment, and orientation programs.
- Manage offboarding activities including exit interviews, final pay processing, and COBRA administration.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA).
- Monitor HR practices and proactively implement company policy updates to reflect changes in labor laws, regulatory requirements, or internal business needs.
- Maintain audit-ready employee records and documentation for legal and compliance purposes.
- Administer and manage workers’ compensation claims, partnering with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure proper reporting and resolution.
- Manage relationships with HR technology vendors, benefits carriers, and payroll providers.
- Coordinate general facility operations, including maintenance, safety protocols, office space planning, and vendor services.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR operational processes for better efficiency and compliance.
- Generate regular reports and analytics on payroll, benefits, headcount, turnover, and compliance metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or a related field; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR) preferred.
