SummaryThe Progressive Die Press Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining progressive die stamping presses to produce high‑quality parts according to specifications and production schedules. This role requires strong knowledge of progressive die operations, safety procedures, and quality control to ensure efficient machine operation, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Operate Komatsu and Maypress machines to produce machined parts according to blueprints and router package specifications.
- Use drawings, manuals, and work instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequence, and setup requirements.
- Start and monitor ongoing machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjust controls or media as required.
- Verify conformance of finished work‑piece to specifications and perform quality inspection using micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
- Prepare and verify trial run settings to ensure accurate machine operations.
- Select and replace tooling and fixtures to keep the machine running efficiently.
- Record piece count and run time of the production process.
- Check alignment and dimensions of assemblies and perform statistical process control (SPC).
- Recognize and remedy minor machine malfunctions; report major discrepancies to a lead or supervisor.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 0–3 years related industrial machine shop experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
