ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Location:
Brea, CA (Full on-site work)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (or soon-to-graduate) in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering;
  Engineering Technology or related STEM field also welcome
• 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial process role
• Working knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly processes
• Familiarity with production equipment: screen printer, reflow, pick & place, and through hole automation.
• Solid understanding of process flow, plant layout, and basic Lean manufacturing principles.
• Exposure to MES platforms (Factory Logix or similar) for real-time production monitoring and data collection.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn new systems and technologies

Job Summary:

The Aegis Technician is an entry-level engineering role supporting manufacturing process improvements, new process rollouts, and hands-on technical assistance to ensure safe, efficient, and waste-reducing production. You’ll partner with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to collect and analyze process data, assist in troubleshooting workflow issues, help develop work instructions and process designs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates are analytical problem-solvers who thrive in a fast-paced factory environment and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to colleagues.

Responsibilities:

• Support data entry and maintain master data (BOMs, routings, lot genealogies) under supervision.
• Help create and update digital work instructions and standard operating procedures in Factory Logix.
• Assist with day-to-day Factory Logix system administration: user account setup, permissions, and basic configurations.
• Generate routine production and quality reports; validate data accuracy.
• Gather and record key production metrics (cycle times, yield rates, downtime events)
• Contribute to system testing: assist in developing test scripts for upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts.
• Aid in testing and validating small process changes or software patches
• Assist in root-cause investigations and troubleshooting process deviations
• Prepare project documentation: process flow diagrams, SOPs, technical reports
• Participate in user-training sessions and helpdesk rotations, documenting common FAQs and resolutions.
• Collaborate with production, quality, operations, and IT teams to gather feedback and suggest simple process improvements.
• Contribute to system testing: assist in developing test scripts for upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts.
• Ensure processes comply with internal, regulatory quality, safety, and environmental standards
• Maintain clear logs of daily activities, escalating unusual trends
• Perform other duties as required to support manufacturing
