Centerless Grinder Operator

Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We manufacture fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets across nine subsidiaries in the United States.

The successful candidate will set up and operate one Cincinnati #2 OM Center-Less Grinding Machine and follow the quality policy of 3V Fasteners.

• Plan and perform close tolerance set-ups with multiple material types
• Train, instruct, and set up for lower-level employees
• Set up and operate while others are not required to
• Establish proper grinding wheel speeds and stock removal rates for optimum efficiency
• Identify necessary gages for each job
• Perform 1st article inspection, referring to the part print, before operating or turning over to another operator
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to help the team meet daily goals of quality and productivity
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Work with minimal supervision to independently perform the job of Set-up Grind Operator

• Set up and operate one Cincinnati #2 OM Grinding Machine
• Maintain high quality standards
• Read and understand work instructions
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Complete router, inspection sheet and input set-up/production information into K-Lite production tracking
• Observe all safety regulations
• Perform other duties as required

• Visual acuity for detailed work
• Lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist and vice versa
• Stand for the entire shift
• Work in an un-air conditioned shop environment

• High School Diploma or GED
• Good communication
• Blueprint reading
• Inspection tools (micrometer, caliper, drop gauges, etc.)
• 5 years of related experience
• Experience with Cincinnati Centerless Grinders preferred

$26/hr - $36/hr based on experience
