Guest Services Captain - Birch Hills Golf Course - Brea, CA.
The Guest Services Supervisor (Captain) is responsible for supervising all aspects of the Guest Services Department, including 8-10 employees, at Birch Hills Golf Course. Adept at providing and managing customer service, the captain will train and supervise the staff to clean, charge, and stage the electric golf cart (66) fleet, tag carts for repair, set up the driving range, pick and clean range balls, and provide exceptional customer service every day.
This is a full‑time position. Paid Time Off is accrued, medical, dental and vision plans are available after the introductory period, golf‑shop and food and beverage discounts are provided, and uniform is supplied.
- Cart staging and driving range setup before guests arrive.
- Ensure all areas are clean and stocked with necessary supplies at all times.
- Stage golf carts for guests’ use.
- Properly set up the driving and keep it functioning at all times.
- Ensure Golf Cart Barn staff follow the instructions of the Procedures Manual.
- Work with the General Manager to ensure golf tournaments are set up and run in a professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and well‑organized cart barn and cart staging area.
- Perform all required cart maintenance procedures.
- Maintain constant communication with the Starter/Greeter, Golf Shop, Cart Attendants, and Player Assistants.
- Assist the Starter/Greeter with bag handling and other guest needs.
- Make sure all golf carts are clean, stocked and parked properly in the staging area.
- Pick up range balls, wash range balls, keep ball machine constantly supplied with range balls.
- Keep the driving range neat, clean and organized at all times.
- Perform all required preventative maintenance procedures on the golf carts.
- Perform all required opening & closing procedures and security of the owner’s assets.
- Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager/Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Assistant Golf Professionals on duty.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts as club events demand.
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned as needed.
- Two years of prior work and supervisor experience; golf course experience preferred.
- Customer service experience.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Exceptional grooming habits, maintaining a clean and complete uniform as directed by management.
- Required to be available for work on all major holidays.
- Must regularly lift and move up to 65 pounds.
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, grasping: stand for long periods of time, sometimes outdoors exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions (hot and cold) and moderate to loud noise level. Frequently required to stoop, bend, crouch, and squat climb, kneel, in and out of golf carts, and to twist at the neck and waist, reach above and below shoulder level, push and pull when retrieving, storing and moving golf bags;
use dominant hand and fingers to feel and grasp, push and pull and for fine manipulation to detail carts, clean clubs and use two‑way radios.
