Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry (Full Time)
The role is a full‑time post (10 sessions) for a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry within Angus Health & Social Care Partnership. Angus is a beautiful, rural area between the Grampian hills and the sea, famous for its glens and leisure pursuits such as golf and hill walking.
This position is located in our two Psychiatry of Old Age inpatient wards – a 13‑bedded organic ward and a 12‑bedded functional ward – based in the Susan Carnegie Centre within the grounds of Stracathro Hospital near Brechin. The successful applicant will join three other Consultant colleagues in the Department of Old Age Psychiatry in Angus, each Consultant providing medical leadership, advice and supervision to three well‑established Community Mental Health Teams for Older People in Angus over 65.
The post‑holder will deliver care and promote a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency approach.
- Provide medical leadership within the Department of Old Age Psychiatry
- Advise and supervise 3 established Community Mental Health Teams for older people in Angus
- Deliver high‑quality inpatient and community care and promote a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency approach
Applicants must be on the specialist register for psychiatry or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT/CESR (CP) or already possess a CESR in psychiatry at the time of interview.

- Or already in possession of a CESR in psychiatry
