Role Description The Sales Associate role is a full-time, on-site position based at The Downhill Dog in Breckenridge, CO. The Sales Associate provides attentive customer service, greeting guests, answering product questions, and helping customers select appropriate canine products based on their needs and lifestyle. Daily responsibilities include operating the point-of-sale system, processing transactions, handling returns or exchanges, and maintaining accurate cash handling procedures.

The role also involves restocking shelves, merchandising displays, keeping the store clean and organized, and monitoring inventory levels. Sales Associates may assist with in-store events, support local community initiatives, and help ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and their dogs.

Qualifications

• Customer service and retail sales skills, including the ability to engage customers, actively listen, and offer product recommendations.
• Point-of-sale, cash handling, and basic computer skills to manage transactions and perform simple inventory tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, teammates, and vendors.
• Organizational and time-management skills to maintain store standards, prioritize tasks, and support a clean, efficient environment.
• Interest in or knowledge of canine products, pet care, and mountain or outdoor lifestyles.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move merchandise, and perform general physical tasks common in retail settings.
• Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak tourism seasons.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
