Purpose and Summary

Within our Retail locations, our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will assist with patient prescriptions, ensuring they are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.

You will operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick-up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: creating heartfelt moments, offering immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone, and solving or escalating patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership (e.g., accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories).
  • Contribute to a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset, being receptive to feedback, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to stores in the market as required.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowed by law and supported by required training.
Immunization Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report per public health requirements.
  • Review and collect patient information and document for each applicable patient.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
    • If the state board does not address a minimum age, must be at least 16 years old.
    • If the state board does not address a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
