Monday – Friday: 3:45 pm – 12:15 am

Position Summary

The Molding Technician will troubleshoot the injection molding process in production to ensure mold presses produce good parts, while maintaining efficient operations and assisting with continuous improvements. The role requires occasional mold changes and shop‑floor support, with primary responsibility in the liquid silicone injection molding department and some thermoplastic molding.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot the injection molding process to ensure good quality parts are produced.
  • Help meet production goals by working efficiently and minimizing machine downtime.
  • Fill out all production paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Record all process changes.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Occasionally help with mold changes.
  • Assist process engineers with new mold setups and establishing parameter ranges.
  • Train new and existing production mold operators on proper molding techniques.
  • Run machines if necessary while operators take breaks, as time permits.

None

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of injection molding experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of injection mold machines and auxiliary equipment (preferred).
  • Experience with liquid silicone injection molding (a plus).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team with other mold processors and lead by example.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read reports and/or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, engineers, setup personnel, mold operators, and other production employees.
Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate basic math functions, figures, and amounts such as proportions, percentages, areas, circumferences, and volumes. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to quickly diagnose common issues and respond rationally and timely.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Maintains a valid Driver’s License.

Essential Job Functions
  • Mental
    :
    Communicate with others, read and interpret written materials, meet company standards, respond to feedback, make improvements, maintain positive relationships, troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Physical
    :
    Operate an injection molding press, hear and verbally communicate for hours, use computer equipment, electrical and general hand tools, lift up to 50 lb on occasion, sit, bend, squat, twist, stand, climb, and walk for hours, handle repetitive tasks with good eye‑hand coordination.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Skill to use a personal computer and basic software packages such as Microsoft Office. Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork.

Equipment Used

Injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment, telephones, computer, other office equipment, electrical and general hand tools.

Special/Additional Requirements

Pass a drug, alcohol, credit, and/or criminal background check.
