Location: Powys and surrounding areas
Pay: £120 per day
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, 6.5 hours per day

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor in Powys looking for flexible work within local secondary schools?

We are recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout Powys, including Brecon, Newtown, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, Ystradgynlais, Machynlleth, Llanidloes, Presteigne, Knighton, Rhayader and Crickhowell
.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Cover Supervisors who are looking for flexible daily supply work, regular ongoing placements or a better work-life balance.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of the usual classroom teacher. Work will already be prepared, and your role will be to ensure pupils remain focused, engaged and working in a safe and positive learning environment.

The Cover Supervisor Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising secondary school pupils during teacher absences
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and classroom activities
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and complete the work provided
• Supporting students with questions and general classroom guidance
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
• Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson
• Creating a calm, positive and productive learning environment

About You

We are looking for candidates who have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor within a secondary school environment.

You should also have:

• Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
• Confidence supervising groups of secondary-aged pupils
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A professional, dependable and flexible approach
• The ability to follow lesson plans and school instructions
• A genuine commitment to supporting young people
• An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education
