Come and make a real difference: we’re looking for an Assistant Service Manager to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly Respite team in Brecon and Churchstoke.

37 hours per week; shift pattern will include weekends and sleep-ins.

Salary

£29,149.91 per annum. Sleep-in shifts are paid £60 per night. Travel expenses are paid at 45p per mile.

What you’ll be doing

In this role you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure a safe and caring service for the people we support and for our colleagues. You’ll be visible in day‑to‑day operations, supporting duties aligned with the needs of the people we support. You’ll work shifts on a rota basis that may include sleep-ins. In the absence of the Service Manager you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the service, providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, conducting one‑to‑one meetings and appraisals, and holding team meetings.

Above all else, your focus will be on achieving the highest levels of independence for the people we support and on organising and modelling support in an innovative, person‑centred and flexible way to make everyday remarkable.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
  • A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
  • Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
  • Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
  • A full driving licence – essential and happy to travel for meetings and training
  • Access to your own car and willingness to use it for transporting people we support to and from activities; business insurance for your vehicle is provided to cover the mileage reimbursement of 45p per mile
